Piracetam

Piracetam is reported to be an intelligence booster and CNS (central nervous system) stimulant with no known toxicity or addictive properties. The subjective effect described by some people is that piracetam, "wakes up your brain."

It's effects and safety are so impressive that piracetam prompted the creation of a new pharmaceutical category called nootropics.

Piracetam (2-oxo-1-pyrrolidine acetamide) is the most well-known nootropic agent. The word nootropic comes from Greek noos (mind) and tropein (towards), and refers to a class of drugs which have common properties including enhancement of learning and memory, enhancement of the resistance of the brain towards chemical and physical injuries, and a general lack of stimulant or sedative properties or other side effects. Piracetam was the first compound discovered to have all of these properties, and became the prototypical nootropic which serves as the reference drug for newer nootropics.

Piracetam was first synthesized in 1961 and then submitted to clinical investigations in 1965. Early uses were in the treatment of motion sickness, vertigo, nystagmus, and childhood epilepsy. From 1968-1971, effects on memory were discovered in spinal cord fixation experiments, research on hypoxia-induced and electroshock-induced amnesia, and passive avoidance experiments in rats. It first reached clinical practice in France in 1971, and by 1972, 700 papers had been published on piracetam. Since that point, piracetam has become licensed in many countries, and is approved in the treatment of alcohol withdrawal, alcoholism, head injury, learning disorders, dyslexia, post-traumatic vertigo and coma, sickle-cell anemia, epilepsy, Raynaud's disease, Parkinson's disease, a.d.d., and others.

College students have reported greater retention for studying and test taking, claiming that "the information seems to flow better while using Piracetam".

Precautions: Piracetam may increase the effects of certain drugs, such as amphetamines, psychotropics, and Hydergine. Adverse effects are rare but include insomnia, psychomotor agitation, nausea, intestinal distress, and headaches. Piracetam has virtually no known toxicity or contraindications. Always drink a full glass of water when taking piracetam to help avoid any potential side effects.

Dosage: Our Piracetam is supplied in 750 mg capsules. The usual dose is 1500 to 4500 mg per day in three divided doses. Some literature recommends a high "attack" dose be taken for the first two days. We have noticed that often when people first take piracetam they may not notice any effect at all until they take a high dose (approximately 3000mg). Thereafter, they may notice that a lower dosage is sufficient. Piracetam takes effect within 30 to 60 minutes.

Testimonials

"My secretary responded so well to piracetam (at doses of only 750 mg) that I decided to give her a small raise so she could afford it. She takes piracetam instead of heading for the coffee machine. Every day she takes it she is decidedly more alert, and intelligent acting and she smiles more. She is overall a much better employee. She says it wakes up her brain." JM

"Piracetam keeps me alert when I am driving. It also helps me to formulate new and different ideas when I am taking essay tests in school." DB

"I started taking piracetam with choline about a year ago and have found this combination to be one of the best things that ever happened to me. I no longer get extreme mood swings, I am much happier in general, and my concentration and speaking ability is better. I also found that my relationships with family and friends have improved, probably due to my increased self confidence." HH

"I took three capsules of piracetam, and after 30 minutes, I began to find my boyfriend much more sexually attractive. I assumed this was as fluke since I had never heard of this effect from piracetam. Since this experience I have taken piracetam every day for two months and every time, without fail, it has the same effect. Piracetam has vastly improved my sex life." DB

In humans subjected to stressful conditions, tyrosine not only improves working memory and attention but may also improve mood and well-being. Tyrosine has been reported to alleviate some of the negative consequences of cold, high altitudes, fatigue, military training, and sleep deprivation. It has also been postulated to decrease stress under conditions of aging, anorexia, and obesity.
A fat soluble analog of Co-q10, Idebenone is an extremely powerful anti-oxidant that can improve neural mitochondrial performance and facilitate transfer of information between hemispheres of the brain.
5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is the immediate precursor to serotonin (5-HT, 5-hydroxytryptamine). Serotonin plays an important role in regulation of mood, appetite, body temperature, and the secretion of various hormones. While serotonin does not readily cross the blood brain barrier, serotonin precursors such as L-tryptophan and 5-HTP do. Supplementation with these precursors increases both central and peripheral levels of serotonin, and 5-HTP is generally seen as superior because it bypasses the rate-limiting step of serotonin synthesis (tryptophan hydroxylase) and absorption is not dependent on dietary factors.
Choline is a nutrient found in many food sources, including milk, liver, eggs, peanuts, soybeans, beef, cauliflower, kale, and cabbage. It is used in the body for two main purposes, as a precursor to the neurotransmittor acetylcholine and to form lecithin. Various conditions, such as stress (including exercise), aging, and certain supplements (such as carnitine and some nootropics) may increase choline need. Alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine (Alpha-GPC) is the most bioavailable form of choline, and also has some mild nootropic effects. It improves performance in both active and conditioning tasks in both young and old mice by increasing production of inositol phosphate, as well as increasing protein kinase C activity (an effect of other nootropics, such as oxiracetam), acetylcholine release, and nerve growth factor. It has been effectively used to treat Alzheimer's and increase recovery from stroke, and it also increases growth hormone in both young and old humans.
Feelz-Good  is a proprietary compound meant to provide the same action as popular anti-depressant MAOI's and SSRI's. Feelz-Good provides serotonin, dopamine, choline, PEA, and anti-oxidants, all in one compact capsule. Below is a breakdown of the ingredients found in Feelz-Good.
L-tyrosine is an amino acid found in the diet that is a precursor to numerous important substances in the body, most notably the catecholamines dopamine (DA) and norepinephrine (NE). It is also a precursor to both melanin and thyroxine. Tyrosine is considered to be conditionally essential because it can be synthesized from phenylalanine when there is sufficient dietary phenylalanine. People with phenylketonuria lack the enzyme necessary to convert phenylalanine to tyrosine, and for them tyrosine is an essential amino acid. It is also an essential amino acid in infants, uremic patients, and some malnourished patients.

The first sense to develop is your touch.  Each square inch of your skin contains roughly 50 nerve endings!  With as many as 5 million total touch receptors in your skin relaying messages to your brain, your body's initial response to touch is to relax.

A simple touch can lower blood pressure and reduce the heart rate.  Touch can signal the brain to produce endorphins, your body's natural pain suppressor.
